Biography

Jack Delany, originally from Massachusetts, grew up in California.  He there attended U.C. Davis where he studied with well known painters Wayne Thiebaud and William Wiley.  Jack retired from his position as art teacher at Washington Wilkes High School in Washington, Georgia, where he now makes his home, in 1998.  He began his relationship with AIR when he was invited to the Spring Invitational exhibition in 2001.  AIR knew of his work through partner Signe Grushovenko, who had studied with Delany at WWHS in Washington before his retirement.  Jack is inspired by Corot, Manet, Cezanne, and Chardin and paints primarily landscapes in oil.
